For the third time, NOMOS teamed up with their Amsterdam retailer Ace Jewelers. The result is a limited edition of just 25 pieces, the NOMOS Zurich Weltzeit Amsterdam watch.I vividly remember seeing the NOMOS Weltzeit – or World time – for the first time, nine years ago, during the SalonQP event in London. Something quite different from their Tangente, Orion, and Tangomat models, for example. By shape, but also due to the complication of this watch. With just a push on the button, you can read the time in 23 other timezones - a very easy to operate travel companion.Ace x NOMOS Zurich Weltzeit AmsterdamInstead of the silvery-white or midnight blue dial, Ace Jewelers and NOMOS decided to go with a matte black dial. Where you’d typically find ‘Berlin’ on the GMT+1 time zone (as obviously, NOMOS likes to use Berlin as their ‘Heimat’ time zone), there’s now Amsterdam. And, to underline the home town of Ace Jewelers, you will find the Amsterdam flag on the dial. Not only that but also the crown has been signed with three crosses, referring to the Amsterdam flag. Alon Ben Joseph, CEO of Ace Jewelers, says: “When we partnered up with NOMOS a few years back, the Zurich Weltzeit was the watch I bought myself to celebrate. The combination of clean looks and complicated innards spoke to me from the moment it was released. Now we added a bit of the Amsterdam Ace flavor to this spectacular watch. An immense honor .It is a pretty cool execution of the NOMOS classic, in my opinion. Perhaps a matte black dial with a lot of small white print isn’t as readable as black on white printing, but the hands give enough contrast, and once the watch is set, it is easy to read and use. The XXX indicates home time (in 24-hour format), in this case, Amsterdam time (GMT+1). It is always showing home time, and you can set this by using the small corrector in the case band of the watch at 7:30. With the pusher at 2 o’clock, you advance the local time. As written above, it is a neat travel companion as it is effortless to use, and the Nomos Zurich Weltzeit watch is very versatile. It will go with a suit, but also with more casual attire. Perhaps the black dial is even more versatile than the silvery-white dial.#gallery-1 {margin: auto;}#gallery-1 .gallery-item {float: left;margin-top: 10px;text-align: center;width: 33%;}#gallery-1 img {border: 2px solid #cfcfcf;}#gallery-1 .gallery-caption {margin-left: 0;}/* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */DUW 5201 MovementInside this Ace x NOMOS Zurich Weltzeit Amsterdam watch is NOMOS caliber DUW 5201.
